Mission Statement
Converged Technologies for Security, Safety, and Resilience (CTSSR) serves as a premier source of information technology expertise and applied knowledge, crafting solutions to emerging issues related to the security, safety and resilience of communities.
Within Virginia Tech’s Information Technologies division, CTSSR provides a unique combination of capabilities for research in geospatial sciences and applications, broadband deployment and related fields; facilitating early deployment of new technologies, and promoting the adoption of resulting innovations by practitioners in operational environments. CTSSR also manages digital identities and authorizations for Virginia Tech faculty, staff, students, and affiliates.
CTSSR is creating a competitive advantage for the university by promoting innovative uses of technology for campus safety and security. CTSSR is a resource for campus first responders and others in the VP for Administrative Services area, helping them keep the campus safe and secure.
