As a senior member of the Vice President's personal staff, Mr. Stewart is responsible for coordinating activities within the staff and the operational units with the IT organization. Additionally, he articulates and develops strategic plans for initiatives in support of the VP's vision for Information Technology. While at Virginia Tech, he has been involved in several aspects of the university's Information Technology organization. Mr. Stewart initially worked with the group developing a data warehouse to support campus wide operations and then as the project manager for the year 2000 preparations, which included the interface between the university and state government. Prior to joining Virginia Tech, he served 22 years in the US Marine Corps, completing a variety of operational and senior level staff assignments. Mr. Stewart received a B.S. in Analytical Management from the US Naval Academy and holds a M.B.A. from Averett College.
